Collaborative Law and Collaborative Divorce

Victor Nelson, a Utah Divorce Coach, is also a member of Collaborative Family Law of Utah, an organization of collaborative law professionals who are committed to helping divorcing parties resolve divorce issues with dignity and respect.

Collaborative law is a legal process where the attorneys for the parties in a family dispute agree to assist the parties in resolving the conflict by using cooperative strategies rather than adversarial techniques and litigation

The team of Collaborative Law professionals has been trained to work together on various aspects of the divorce: mental health professionals may serve as Parent Coordinators to evaluate custody arrangements; other mental health professionals may work as a Divorce Coach during and after the divorce; accountants and CPAs may provide forensic accounting services.

As a Utah divorce coach, Victor Nelson has is also a member of CFLU (Collaborative Family Law of Utah) and is committed to the non-adversarial teamwork approach to resolving divorce issues.

Compare The Financial Costs:
Mediation vs Litigation

A Boston family law firm analyzed the costs of 199 divorce cases they completed in 2006. Even though the actual costs may vary according to where you live, pay attention to the RATIO of the costs.

Mediated Divorce .............................$ 6,600

Collaborative Law Divorce.............. 19,723

Lawyer Negotiated Divorce.......... 26,830

Litigation (going to trial)................. 77,746

Litigation may be more than TEN TIMES the cost of a Mediated Divorce and more than THREE TIMES the cost of a Collaborative Divorce.
